Keturah A. (Patient)I heard of id2 through social media. As a dental implant patient, of all things that could be included in my dental bill, this is one I would have welcomed. The implant patient portal is important to me as a patient, and as someone who travels the world. Now I can always have this important information close at hand.

Kimberly Schlam, DMD, MSAs a prosthodontist, I treat many patients requiring implant revision therapy and I am faced with patients on a weekly basis who present with unidentified dental implants. With the id2 patient portal I can now track my patients' implants and restorative components in a user friendly and easily shareable platform. We owe it to our patients and future colleagues to track dental implant information and I look forward to this becoming the standard of care in the US like it is in some other countries.

Andrea Afsaneh Rad, D.M.D., M.Sc., M.M.Sc.With so many implants from numerous companies that continue to come into my practice needing to be serviced, it is getting extremely difficult to identify the brands. In this day and age, patient medical information is imperative to have in their own possession. I couldn’t be more pleased than to be able to provide my own patients with their dental implant information using id2 patient portal. For the price of an average healing abutment, I can provide a lifetime of access to my patients. I feel at peace knowing they can access this information online or on their phone in a HIPAA compliant fashion and I believe this should be the standard of care moving forward.

William S. Bate, D.M.D, A.P.CHaving practiced OMS for over 4 decades and having placed multiple types / brands of implant systems, it is gratifying to finally see a dental implant patient portal become available to the dental profession. The id2 product is the practical, efficient, and affordable solution for a lingering problem that has plagued and frustrated far too many patients and dental practitioners for years! In spite of evolving improvements in materials, techniques, and grafting materials, lacking a simple and dependable database has caused much unnecessary aggravation, expense and waste of time for patients and practitioners alike. An analogous problem exists in the medical community too, in regards to implantable devices. The id2 is the solution at hand now! Use of it should be an absolute standard of care issue - resolved.

Robert A. del Castillo, D.M.D., PAIt should be the standard of care for patients to have complete information of their implant information at their immediate disposal, and id2 dental implant patient portal is the answer. With the continuous increase in the number of implants on the market, it is nearly impossible to identify what you are dealing with when treating new patients who had implant work done in another state or internationally.

Arnold Rosen DDSAny clinician placing or restoring dental implants should take a serious look at the new dental implant patient portal, id2. Every prosthesis has a useful life to components and materials and will need to be repaired, retooled, or remade. The simple process of uploading the surgical and restorative information can and will save clinicians and patients significant time and money related to future repairs, component replacements, and prosthetic remakes. Nothing is more frustrating and costly to both clinicians and patients managing repairs without detailed information for each implant and abutment supporting a prosthesis. You order components at over $200 dollars, prep the patient, remove the prosthesis and realize you ordered the wrong implant parts. So you put everything back, order a new abutment, and reschedule the patient. You just spent hundreds of dollars with no return and your patient lost valuable time. Take a serious look at the new dental implant patient portal, id2 and save yourself and your patients, time and money.

Charles Mastrovich, DDS , APCThe past several years of my 40+ year career, my practice has been focused on comprehensively resolving implant mechanical problems. The first step in preparing for a safe and efficient implant recovery is to understand the clinical situation, which always starts with knowing the implant specifications. Unfortunately, obtaining this information is often difficult and problematic, and in some cases borders on the impossible. Patient moves, doctor retirements and transitions, destruction of records and the general passage of time, all tend to erase these details. Additionally, as the implant market expands in both case numbers and the number of implant systems worldwide, this problem will only accelerate in the future. It would be extremely helpful, and a major time saver, if a patient could easily direct us into a secure id2 file containing the information we need. Problem solved.

Nicole Pruitt, DMDAs a pediatric dentist, I don’t see or treat implant cases. Yet, as a mother with a daughter who has an implant, uploading her dental implant info into the patient portal was a decision that brought immense peace of mind to both of us. With her being away at college, having instant access to her implant data provides a sense of security knowing she can receive prompt care if needed without relying on me. This proactive approach to managing her dental information only eases the current challenges of distance but also sets the foundation for seamless accessibility to her data in the future, and as her mother find the id2 portal to be truly invaluable.

Jose Cortes Botello, DDSid2 offers an indispensable digital archive of dental implant information specific to all my current and future patients. Its friendly, easy to navigate, website makes it simple for my patients to access their implant records and share them with any dentist at any given moment. In the modern dental era where time is my most valuable asset, id2 saves me precious hours, placing all the information I need to better serve my patients, at my fingertips. I highly recommend id2 to all patients that have at least one dental implant in their mouth. And, certainly to all my colleagues, id2 is a must for any clinician and laboratory technologist involved in implant dentistry.

Tony Daher, DDS, MSEdWhen an implant patient is referred to our prosthodontic practice, we are often hit with an unknown implant brand. The clinical time we spend to find out what type it is, and where we can source parts to solve the issue becomes enormous and costly for us as clinicians & staff as well as our patients. With a continuous increase in implant types on the national and international dental market, it is becoming impossible to identify the implant specifics. Through social media, we became aware of the id2 Dental Implant Patient Portal which is proactively eliminating the need for future implant identification. The enrollment process is extremely easy and beneficial to the entire dental community and patients. They all can access the implant information anytime, anywhere they happen to be located. Our recommendation to all patients and practitioners is to enroll their implant brands. Time is precious. Don’t waste it, just start using the registry like we are.

Gary Krueger, DDSIn recent years, I have treated many patients who have experienced implant complications, needing new treatment plan or a replacement of an abutment or screw. One critical part of the treatment is knowing what implant system I am dealing with. This sometimes takes a lot of my time to figure out, which also delays helping my patients in a timely fashion. Moving forward, I am glad to be working with id2 as I am uploading my patients’ implant information on the portal for them to have and share if and when another treatment is needed.

Sergio Rubinstein, DDSIt is finally here! A UNIVERSAL dental implant patient portal has been created! The worldwide knowledge and benefits of such information for everyone involved with dental implants is unmeasurable. A patient has the right to know the details of what implant(s) is and are placed in their mouth, but just as important, all parties are involved: surgeon, restorative dentist, prosthodontist and dental laboratory can provide all treatment details. If a patient has a problem, switches dentist, relocates to another city or country, such information is at the patient and treating dentist fingertips. The hassle and wasted time to gather such information is 100% eliminated in the most efficient and reliable manner!

Tony Chammas, D.M.D.It is about time the dental community has a way to protect and safeguard patient’s implant information by signing up with id2 dental implant patient portal. Patients move, providers change, and implant companies come and go over time. I have learned that the best way to maintain patient implant data and to provide the adequate tools to communicate amongst labs and providers is to have it securely uploaded in the portal and available when needed. As a Prosthodontist dealing with dental implant management at multiple levels, id2 patient portal will take away the guesswork and the extra labor and cost needed to efficiently and accurately deliver treatment. I highly recommend id2! It is a win-win for everyone involved in our dental implant patients’ continuum of care.

Joseph J. Massad, DDSThere are times in my office I really get frustrated because patients are coming from all different states with different implants for treatment. They don’t carry what implant they have, so my staff and I try to figure out what it is; so we call several surgeons from the patients’ past to figure out the puzzle of which implants are in which area and what diameter. Situations like these are very frustrating. The id2 patient portal will take away a lot of the apprehensions we have when we go to the office. The patient can access the information on a secure website and share it with the dental professionals. I don’t know why we haven’t thought of this before. It’s great!
